Adrian College Bids Farewell to Athletic Trainer Emily Baldus as She Joins Minot State
After nearly a decade of service to Adrian College as both a student-athlete and Athletic Trainer, the Bulldogs are saying a heartfelt farewell to Emily Baldus ’21. This summer, Baldus will depart her role in Adrian’s Athletics Department to begin a new opportunity at Minot State University in North Dakota.
Baldus’ journey with Adrian began in 2017 when she enrolled as an exercise science student and joined the NCAA Softball team, competing for four seasons.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in 2021 and went on to complete her master’s in athletic training at Adrian in 2022.
As a certified Athletic Trainer, Baldus became a vital member of the Bulldogs’ sports medicine staff, providing care for Men’s ACHA Division 1 Hockey, Men’s and Women’s Wrestling, Men’s Volleyball, and Acrobatics & Tumbling. Her contributions were instrumental during championship runs, including the 2024 Men’s ACHA Division 1 Hockey National Championship and back-to-back MIAA titles for Men’s Wrestling in 2023 and 2024.
“Emily has been an incredible asset to our athletic department—not only as a highly skilled and reliable Athletic Trainer, but also as a compassionate, steady presence for our student-athletes,” said Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator, Meg Sharp. “Her professionalism, work ethic, and genuine care for those around her set the standard in every space she entered. Emily will be deeply missed at Adrian College, but we are so proud of her and excited to see the impact she’ll make at Minot State.”
At Minot State, Baldus will primarily work with the Women’s ACHA Division 1 Hockey program while also assisting with Football, Women’s Volleyball, Baseball, and Softball. She begins her new role on August 4. Though bittersweet, Adrian College sends Baldus off with gratitude, pride, and the reminder: once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog. Read the whole story here!
