AT Helberg to Be Inducted into East Texas Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Honor

After three decades of service to student-athletes and the athletic training profession, Paris Independent School District Athletic Trainer Chad Helberg is receiving one of East Texas' highest honors.
Helberg has been selected as a 2026 Hall of Honor inductee by the East Texas Athletic Trainers Association (ETATA), an organization he helped establish as one of its founding members.
He was recognized during the association's Hall of Honor ceremony on June 1 following the annual scholarship tournament.
Throughout his career, Helberg has become a trusted presence for generations of student-athletes, providing injury prevention, rehabilitation, emergency care, and sports medicine support.
His work has helped countless athletes safely return to competition while promoting the overall health and well-being of students throughout the Paris ISD athletic program.
Beyond his impact on local athletes, Helberg has played an important role in advancing the Athletic Training profession across East Texas. His involvement with ETATA over the past 30 years has helped strengthen the profession while supporting fellow Athletic Trainers throughout the region.
Paris ISD leaders praised Helberg's commitment to student-athletes and athletics, noting the lasting impact he has made on young people throughout his career.
"Chad's passion for caring for students and supporting athletics has made a tremendous difference in the lives of so many young people over the years," said Paris ISD Superintendent Althea Dixon.
For decades, Helberg has been a familiar face on the sidelines, often working behind the scenes to keep athletes healthy and safe. His Hall of Honor induction serves as recognition of both his dedication to student-athletes and his contributions to Athletic Training across East Texas. See the full story here!
