From high school programs to collegiate athletics, recent hires showcase the expertise and passion these professionals bring to athlete care. Here are three exciting updates in the world of athletic training:

  • Archbishop Stepinac High School has welcomed Haley Wilton, MS, LAT, ATC, as its new Head Athletic Trainer through a partnership with Burke Rehabilitation®. A graduate of SUNY Oneonta and SUNY Cortland, Wilton brings extensive experience across multiple sports and competitive levels, including a recent role with Army Football at West Point. Athletic Director Mike O’Donnell praised her dedication to athlete health, while Burke’s Dr. Bram Newman highlighted her ability to deliver personalized care that prioritizes student safety. Excited to join the Stepinac community, Wilton said she looks forward to creating a safe, supportive environment for athletes while empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and performance.
  • Bowie State University has added Kiara Paylor as its new Assistant Athletic Trainer, strengthening the Bulldogs’ sports medicine team. A Bronx native, Paylor brings NCAA Division I and II experience, with past work at the University of Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Sacred Heart University. She recently earned her master’s in athletic training from Sacred Heart and holds certifications in Basic Life Support, Mental Health First Aid, and Hawkgrips IASTM. Assistant AD Courtnee Springs praised Paylor’s knowledge and passion for wellness, noting her impact will be felt across all programs. Paylor expressed her gratitude, calling the role an exciting start to her professional career.
  • Canisius College expanded its sports medicine staff with the hiring of Domenic Gallo and Kara Haboian as Assistant Athletic Trainers. Gallo, a Buffalo native and University of Pittsburgh graduate, will work with men’s soccer, rowing, and men’s lacrosse after previously serving as Pitt’s primary athletic trainer for women’s soccer and assisting with championship events. Haboian, from Rochester, N.Y., will oversee volleyball, swimming and diving, and acrobatics and tumbling, following experience at D’Youville College and Buffalo State. Director of Sports Medicine Kristen Saviola praised both hires for their energy, work ethic, and commitment to athlete care, saying their arrival strengthens the department’s ability to support student-athletes at the highest level.
