The Philadelphia Eagles' Sports Medicine/Athletic Training Room is a bustling center of activity, especially during the intense days of Training Camp.

Players come and go, seeking treatment and advice under the expert guidance of Tom Hunkele, the Eagles' Vice President of Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer.

Hunkele, alongside his skilled team of Athletic Trainers, is at the heart of the Eagles' medical treatment plan, ensuring that every player is prepared for the demanding season ahead.

Long days, often stretching from 6 AM to 10 PM, are fueled by dedication and a love for the game.

"A new year is totally different than the year before. It's really about everybody on the team – the athletes, the coaches, everyone on my staff – having a chance to get better."

Hunkele's staff includes experts like Jerome Reid, Joseph O'Pella, Steve Feldman, Shaneice Jackson, and Monte Wong.

They work closely with Fernando Noriega, the team's Director of Player Performance and Sports Science/Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Together, they ensure that everything from player performance to recovery is meticulously planned and executed.

"Everything works hand in hand."

The Eagles are fortunate to have Hunkele, now in his 25th NFL season and 11th with the Eagles, leading their medical efforts. Trust is a cornerstone of their success.

"It's not about just the next day. It's about the year, their full contracts, their careers. The only way to have success is to show them that you truly care about the players."

Hunkele's approach is centered around trust and individual care, ensuring that each player feels supported throughout their career.

"We're treating them as people and we're answering every question and every concern."

By fostering a culture of trust and care, the Eagles' medical team helps players achieve their best on and off the field.
