The announcement was made by Jennifer Beardslee, Assistant AD for Wellness Services.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be back at my alma mater,” said Wilson, a 2020 graduate of Miami. “I had the great honor to work with Miami football back in 2019 and I can confidently say that there is no culture quite like Miami Athletics. I am excited to contribute to the future success of an iconic organization.”
Wilson brings high-level professional experience to the RedHawks, having spent the past two seasons (2023–24) as a Seasonal Athletic Trainer with the Pittsburgh Steelers. While in Pittsburgh, she managed injury evaluations, rehab programs, and supervised student athletic trainers. She also developed detailed injury reports, analyzing trends in injury types across the season.
Prior to her time with the Steelers, Wilson worked with the Cincinnati Bengals in a similar role in 2022 and was a Certified Graduate Assistant at Tennessee Technological University from 2020 to 2022.
Beardslee praised the hire, and stated:
“Caitlyn is highly motivated with a very strong work ethic. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the Miami Wellness Services having been a member of the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers organizations the past three years."
Wilson’s roots with the RedHawks run deep—she earned four years of clinical experience in Miami’s athletic training program and worked with the NCAA Datalys Center and the Ersha Olympic Training Center in Guangzhou, China, during her undergraduate years.
She holds a master's degree from Tennessee Tech in exercise science, physical education, and wellness. Read the full story here!
