Cincinnati Named Big 12 Sports Medicine Staff of the Year

The University of Cincinnati has earned its first Big 12 honor since joining the conference—being named the Big 12 Sports Medicine Staff of the Year.

Senior Associate AD of Sports Medicine Aaron HimmlerVoted on by peers, the recognition celebrates the exceptional care and dedication provided by UC’s 13 Athletic Trainers, physical therapist, and two PT residents, led by Senior Associate AD of Sports Medicine Aaron Himmler and overseen by Chief of Staff Brad Pike.

"I couldn't be prouder of our University of Cincinnati sports medicine team," said Brad Pike. "This recognition is a testament to the tireless dedication, expertise, and care our staff brings to every student-athlete."

Himmler, who was also named the 2025 OATA Athletic Trainer of the Year, emphasized the team’s passion:

"We are privileged to care for some of the country's top student-athletes. It's a true team effort, and I'm proud of the work our group does from top to bottom."

Supported by NovaCare Rehabilitation, the staff provides comprehensive care to over 450 student-athletes across 18 varsity sports.
