“They mentally helped me get through my injury and back to playing much quicker than I would have thought.”
Now in his second year of the accelerated 3+2 program, Lutz's clinical experiences range from high school to collegiate athletes, and his current role with the Brewers offers a new perspective.
Working closely with a dedicated medical staff, he focuses on personalized care for professional athletes.
“At the professional level, you get to know how athletes work on a deeper, individual level.”
Balancing the internship with his studies, Lutz connects virtually for classes while assisting the Brewers during home games.
His professors, including clinical education coordinator Danelle Smith, helped facilitate this opportunity.
“Logan has shown he would be responsible enough to handle the demands on his time."
Looking ahead, Lutz hopes to continue working with the Brewers or in the minor league system after graduation.
He advises aspiring Athletic Trainers to “observe first, work hard, and spend your time wisely.” See his full story here!
