Grant from Cincinnati Bengals and NFL Foundation Enhances Student Athlete Safety
The Kettering Health Foundation has received a $25,000 grant from the Cincinnati Bengals and the NFL Foundation’s Club Matching Athletic Trainer Grant program, matched by the Foundation’s board for a total of $50,000.
These funds will enhance athletic training services and upgrade equipment for 17 high schools in the Greater Dayton area, benefiting around 5,000 student athletes. Rick Thie, president of Kettering Health Foundation, stated:
“Athletic training services are essential to keeping our student athletes safe and at their best. Thanks to the NFL Foundation, we can ensure continued access to these vital services.”
This grant, now in its second year, will offset the cost of athletic training services and provide necessary upgrades to athletic training rooms.
The new equipment was specifically requested by Kettering Health athletic trainers to meet the unique needs of the student athletes they serve.
Athletic trainers play a crucial role in injury prevention, assessment, emergency care, and rehabilitation. The NFL Foundation’s program aims to improve access to these services and support high school football and other sports.
The funds will directly benefit 17 schools, including Bethel, Cedarville, and Xenia High Schools. Through this partnership, Kettering Health Foundation and the NFL Foundation are working together to keep young athletes healthy and safe.
