Garcilazo stood out for her dedication to providing high-quality healthcare to student-athletes while also elevating the athletic training profession within her community.

Her impact goes far beyond the sidelines.

Garcilazo has been a leader in developing safety protocols, including emergency action plans, and building strong athletic training programs that support both athlete health and overall student success. She is also deeply involved in mentorship, helping guide future Athletic Trainers and students interested in the profession.

Collaboration has been a key part of her success, working closely with administrators, coaches, parents, and athletes to create a supportive and informed environment around sports medicine.

In addition, her commitment to continuing education ensures she remains at the forefront of best practices in athletic healthcare.

This recognition highlights not only Garcilazo’s individual excellence, but also the critical role Athletic Trainers play in secondary schools—keeping student-athletes safe, supported, and ready to succeed both on and off the field.
