Medical Team to the Rescue for Star Simone Biles at Olympics!

INJURY UPDATE - Simone Biles, the decorated American gymnast, showcased resilience and determination in the face of adversity during the grueling Olympic competition last night.

When the injury happened, she consulted her coach. Then she went backstage with Dr. Marcia Faustin, the team doctor.

When they returned to the floor, an Athletic Trainer taped her ankle tightly.  She moved around carefully, testing the calf and had a look of concern on her face.

Many in the U.S. held their collective breath.

Despite the injury, Biles did return to the competition. Cecile Landi, Biles’ personal coach and the U.S. women's team coach, reassured fans there were no concerns about Biles' ability to continue competing.

"She felt a little something in her calf."

Biles powered through, delivering an impressive all-around score of 59.566, which was the highest score, and finishing well ahead of reigning Olympic champion and teammate Sunisa Lee.

Biles' performance was nothing short of extraordinary. She executed her routines with her usual precision and power, despite the evident pain and heavy limp.

She achieved top scores on the balance beam (14.733) and vault (15.800), and high marks on the uneven bars (14.433) and floor exercise (14.600).

Chellsie Memmel, the technical gymnastics lead for USA Gymnastics, said:

"She is an outstanding gymnast and person. What she was able to do with looking like she had some soreness or something in her lower leg is remarkable."
