NATM: Marshall County’s Trainer Jen—A Champion in Healthcare

As National Athletic Training Month unfolds this March, Marshall County proudly celebrates Athletic Trainer Jen Salmon, a dedicated AT who has spent 21 years in the field, with the last nine serving the local community.

National AT MonthThis year’s National Athletic Training Month theme, “Champions in Healthcare,” highlights their vital role in healthcare and athletic performance—a title Athletic Trainer Jen exemplifies daily.

Beyond her duties with Marshall County Athletics, Trainer Jen also works as a physical therapy assistant at Atlas Physical Therapy, further demonstrating her commitment to injury recovery and rehabilitation. Her expertise benefits athletes, coaches, and parents alike, ensuring that players receive top-tier care from the moment an injury occurs to the time they step back onto the field.

“As the first medical professional on-site after an injury, Jen plays a critical role in emergency response, follow-up care, and return-to-play decisions,” said a Marshall County coach. “Her dedication goes far beyond game time.”

jenHer workdays begin well before the first whistle and extend long after the final buzzer—wrapping injuries, providing treatment, and preparing for any scenario that might arise. Whether tending to Marshall County athletes or assisting a competitor in need, Athletic Trainer Jen’s presence is invaluable.

The Marshall County community is fortunate to have Jen, a true Champion in Healthcare, leading the way in athlete safety, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.
