The Saint Joseph's College sports medicine team has been recognized for its outstanding commitment to student-athlete care, earning the 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Athletic Training Staff of the Year Award.
Voted on by conference member institutions, the award recognizes excellence in athletic healthcare and student-athlete support across the GNAC.
This marks the third time Saint Joseph's has received the distinction, having previously earned the award in 2014 and 2022.
Leading the department is Miller-Gagnon, who is entering her 22nd year as Head Athletic Trainer. In addition to overseeing sports medicine services, she serves as the college's Senior Woman Administrator and teaches injury care and prevention courses.
Under her leadership, Saint Joseph's has also become a clinical education site for Athletic Training students from the University of Southern Maine and the University of New England.
Johnston has been a member of the sports medicine staff since 2019 and has played a key role in supporting student-athletes across multiple sports. Mills joined the staff in 2023 after completing a clinical experience at Saint Joseph's and continues to contribute to the department's growing reputation for excellence.
"We're honored to be recognized by our peers across the conference," Miller-Gagnon said. "Daniel, Bri, and I are committed to providing the best possible care and support for our student-athletes."
The award reflects the dedication, expertise, and teamwork that Athletic Trainers bring to college athletics every day, often working behind the scenes to help student-athletes perform at their best. Read the full story here!
