NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – After nearly four decades of unwavering commitment, Shaun Toomey is retiring from Westminster College, leaving behind a legacy built on care, trust, and excellence in Athletic Training.
From injury prevention to recovery support, Toomey has done it all—with empathy and a deep personal connection.
“He’s been more than just a trainer; he’s been a friend, a counselor, and someone that you can talk to who will brighten up your day,” said student-athlete Dallas Myers. “Shaun always made you feel like you mattered, made you feel like family.”
Known for evolving with the field of sports medicine while staying rooted in personal care, Toomey reflected on his time in a farewell message:
“What I found here is a place with exceptional people… Be curious. Be exceptional. Impress me.”
As Toomey steps away from the sidelines, his presence will be deeply missed—but his impact will echo through the resilience and strength of every athlete he supported.
Westminster’s athletic community is stronger for having had him at its heart. See the story here!
