The private ceremony celebrated Farnam's 28-year career with the organization and his pivotal contributions to the Timberwolves’ medical services. Farnam’s journey with the Timberwolves began in the late 1990s. He spent 24 seasons as Head Athletic Trainer, a position he assumed in September 2000, before transitioning to Vice President of Medical Services this season. Over the years, Farnam has been a cornerstone of the Timberwolves’ health and performance programs, impacting thousands of players, coaches, and staff. *“Gregg has been the heart of our medical team for decades,” the organization stated. “From injury rehab and game preparation to mentoring young professionals, his dedication is unmatched.”* Farnam’s expertise extends beyond the Timberwolves. Since 2001, he has served as an Athletic Trainer for USA Basketball, contributing to multiple gold-medal-winning teams, including the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics and the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. His work with the U.S. Select Team and Basketball Without Borders underscores his global impact on sports medicine and athlete care. Beyond basketball, Farnam is a past chairman of the National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association and has held leadership roles in various professional organizations. He is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. A native of Pine River, Minn., Farnam credits his passion for Athletic Training to his education at St. Cloud State University and his master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania. Farnam and his wife Tiffany are proud parents to six children and grandparents, grounding a remarkable career in family and community.  Read more [here](https://www.nba.com/timberwolves/news/minnesota-timberwolves-honor-vice-president-of-medical-services-gregg-farnam)!  Share: [facebook-f icon ](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/timberwolves-honor-at-gregg-farnam-with-training-room-dedication) [linkedin-in icon ](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/timberwolves-honor-at-gregg-farnam-with-training-room-dedication) [twitter icon ](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/timberwolves-honor-at-gregg-farnam-with-training-room-dedication) [pinterest-p icon ](http://pinterest.com/pin/create/link/?url=https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/timberwolves-honor-at-gregg-farnam-with-training-room-dedication) [envelope icon ](mailto:?body=https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/timberwolves-honor-at-gregg-farnam-with-training-room-dedication) ## Related posts [![](https://blog.healthyroster.com/hubfs/Athletic%20Training%20And%20Sports%20Medicine%20News-1.jpg) ](https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/high-school-athletic-trainers-linked-to-lower-fatality-and-injury-rates-research-shows) [ATs Save Lives](https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/tag/ats-save-lives) ### [High School Athletic Trainers Linked to Lower Fatality and Injury Rates, Research Shows](https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/high-school-athletic-trainers-linked-to-lower-fatality-and-injury-rates-research-shows) [![](https://blog.healthyroster.com/hubfs/Athletic%20Training%20And%20Sports%20Medicine%20News-1.jpg) ](https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/kentuckys-brandon-wells-plays-key-role-in-trent-noahs-return) [ATs Helping Student Athletes](https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/tag/ats-helping-student-athletes) ### [Kentucky’s Brandon Wells Plays Key Role in Trent Noah’s Return](https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/kentuckys-brandon-wells-plays-key-role-in-trent-noahs-return) [![](https://blog.healthyroster.com/hubfs/Athletic%20Training%20And%20Sports%20Medicine%20News-1.jpg) ](https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/two-decades-of-dedication-neil-turner-reflects-on-20-years-at-newark-high) [Spotlight on Athletic Trainers](https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/tag/spotlight-on-athletic-trainers) ### [Two Decades of Dedication: Neil Turner Reflects on 20 Years at Newark High](https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/two-decades-of-dedication-neil-turner-reflects-on-20-years-at-newark-high) ![websights](https://ws.zoominfo.com/pixel/633f1c8a5a797886caf77a14) ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "BlogPosting", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : "Tim Clark", "url" : "https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/author/tim-clark" }, "dateModified" : "2026-06-23T16:31:14.765Z", "datePublished" : "2025-01-13T14:46:32.000Z", "headline" : "Timberwolves Honor AT Gregg Farnam with Training Room Dedication", "image" : [ "https://blog.healthyroster.com/hubfs/Athletic%20Training%20And%20Sports%20Medicine%20News-1.jpg" ], "mainEntityOfPage" : { "@id" : "https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/timberwolves-honor-at-gregg-farnam-with-training-room-dedication", "@type" : "WebPage" }, "publisher" : { "@type" : "Organization", "logo" : { "@type" : "ImageObject", "url" : "https://blog.healthyroster.com/hubfs/2026%20HR%20Logo%20w%20Tagline_Full%20Color-1.png" }, "name" : "Healthy Roster" } } ``` ```json { "@context" : "http://schema.org", "@type" : "Article", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : [ "Tim Clark" ], "url" : "https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/author/tim-clark" }, "datePublished" : "2025-01-13T14:46:32+0000", "description" : "Timberwolves honored Gregg Farnam’s 28-year dedication by naming their training room after him, celebrating his impact on player health and sports medicine.", "headline" : "Timberwolves Honor AT Gregg Farnam with Training Room Dedication", "image" : "https://6581845.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/6581845/Athletic%20Training%20And%20Sports%20Medicine%20News-1.jpg", "publisher" : { "@type" : "Organization", "logo" : { "@type" : "ImageObject", "url" : "https://6581845.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/6581845/2026%20HR%20Logo%20w%20Tagline_Full%20Color-1.png" }, "name" : "Healthy Roster" }, "url" : "https://blog.healthyroster.com/blog/timberwolves-honor-at-gregg-farnam-with-training-room-dedication" } ```
