Trousdale County Schools Welcomes New Athletic Trainer, Brice Elkins

Trousdale County Schools has officially welcomed Brice Elkins as the district’s new Athletic Trainer, bringing a strong blend of education, experience, and passion for student-athlete care.

Screenshot 2025-12-10 091450Elkins joins the Yellow Jackets from Cumberland University, where he served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and gained extensive hands-on experience supporting collegiate athletes.

A certified Athletic Trainer, Elkins earned his Master of Athletic Training in 2023 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Union College.

His clinical background includes work at Cumberland University as well as internships with Union College and Eastern Kentucky University—experiences that shaped his commitment to injury prevention, rehabilitation, and athlete wellness.

Elkins also has deep ties to the community. He is married to Makenzee Dixon Elkins, an eighth-grade math teacher at Jim Satterfield Middle School who also serves as the high school’s head volleyball coach and the middle school’s assistant volleyball coach.

Grateful for the opportunity, Elkins shared his enthusiasm for the role:
