Two college athletic departments are welcoming experienced sports medicine professionals into new roles, with Binghamton University adding an Associate Athletic Trainer and Providence College naming a new leader for health and performance.

Both hires bring experience supporting student-athletes, but their new responsibilities reflect different stages of a career in Athletic Training.

Binghamton University Welcomes Ethan Broder

Binghamton University has hired Ethan Broder as an Associate Athletic Trainer, where he will work with the men's basketball and track and field programs.

Broder joins the Bearcats after serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at St. Thomas Aquinas College since December 2023. There, he supported all 22 athletic programs and oversaw strength and conditioning for the men's and women's basketball teams.

"I'm excited to welcome Ethan to Binghamton Sports Medicine," said Kara Gorgos, Director of Sports Medicine and Performance. "His experience and commitment to student-athlete care will be a great addition to our team."

Broder earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Miami in 2020 and a master's degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida in 2022. His experience also includes working with multiple University of Miami athletic programs and a strength and conditioning internship with Yale football.

Providence College Names Brad Kimble to Senior Leadership Role

Providence College has announced the hiring of Brad Kimble as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Health & Performance, bringing 23 years of experience in collegiate athletics.

Kimble most recently served as Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and Head Football Athletic Trainer at Georgia Tech, where he oversaw sports medicine operations for 14 varsity sports.

His new role at Providence will draw on his experience connecting Athletic Training, strength and conditioning, nutrition, mental health, and sports science to support student-athlete health.

"Brad brings an outstanding combination of experience, leadership and a comprehensive approach to student-athlete health and performance," said Providence Athletic Director Steve Napolillo.

Before Georgia Tech, Kimble held positions at Boise State, Rice University, Syracuse University, and Baldwin Wallace University.

Together, these announcements highlight the range of career opportunities available in Athletic Training, from providing daily care for student-athletes to leading comprehensive health and performance programs at the collegiate level.
