Athletic Trainer Haas Honored with Outstanding Service Award by NSIAAA

The Nebraska State Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NSIAAA) has recognized Brian Haas with the Outstanding Service Award, celebrating his dedication and contributions to high school athletics in Nebraska.

Brian HaasHaas, a longtime educator and Head Athletic Trainer at Kearney High School, has been instrumental in ensuring the health and well-being of student-athletes. His leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact on both the school and the broader athletic community.

“Brian’s unwavering commitment and support of our student-athletes has made a lasting impact at Kearney High School,” said Ryan Hogue, KPS Activities Director and KHS Assistant Principal. “His expertise, care, and dedication ensure that our athletes have the very best support system possible. This award is a well-deserved recognition of his service to our student-athletes.”

A District IV recipient, Haas began his journey in Athletic Training at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he graduated in 2007. He later earned his Master of Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2009, serving as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Husker wrestling team.

His career led him to Lincoln Southeast High School, where he worked as an Athletic Trainer and adjunct professor for Wesleyan University’s Athletic Training Educational Program.

In 2012, Haas returned to Kearney to join Family Physical Therapy, working with Kearney High School as an Assistant Athletic Trainer before stepping into his current role as Head Athletic Trainer in 2018. He also contributes to the Nebraska State Athletic Trainers’ Association’s Secondary School Committee.

Superintendent Jason Mundorf praised Haas’s impact, stated:

“Brian Haas is an invaluable part of our Kearney High School family. His passion and dedication go far beyond athletic training—he is a mentor, a leader, and a role model for our students.”

Haas expressed gratitude for the honor, said:

“Athletic training is my passion, and I’m grateful to serve student-athletes every day. Thank you to the NSIAAA for this incredible honor.”
