Jenny Corbett Inducted into Texas State Athletic Training Association Hall of Honor

Jenny Corbett, a trailblazing Athletic Trainer and former Angelo State University volleyball player, has been inducted into the Texas State Athletic Training Association (TSATA) Hall of Honor.

CorbettCorbett, who served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Central High School for 31 years and now works at Blackwell High School, was one of ten honorees celebrated during TSATA’s 50th anniversary ceremony in Frisco, Texas.

“It’s an extreme honor that I never expected,” Corbett said. “To be thought of and considered to be inducted into the Hall of Honor with people I look up to is just unbelievable.”

Corbett made history as the first female Head Athletic Trainer of large schools in West Texas to gain recognition, breaking barriers in a male-dominated profession. Her career has been marked by dedication, resilience, and a deep commitment to her athletes.

“Every day brings something new,” she explained. “You might have a plan, but the only guarantee is that you’re not going to get that plan done.”

Throughout her decades-long career, Corbett has been more than a trainer—she’s been a mentor, educator, and consistent support system for countless student-athletes.

“I think athletic training is one of the best professions you can ever get into,” she shared. “It’s an incredible thing to be part of families and athletes and see what incredible young men and women they become.”

Corbett’s induction into the TSATA Hall of Honor cements her legacy as a leader and pioneer in the field of Athletic Training.
