After decades of dedicated service to University of Oregon student-athletes, Kim Terrell has been named the 2025 recipient of the Doug Boersma Distinguished B1G Athletic Medicine Award.

Terrell, who earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Oregon, currently serves as the Senior Associate Director of Athletic Medicine.

She has overseen Athletic Training services and staff while working directly with several programs, including football, women’s basketball, track and field, and more.

*"Congratulations to Kim Terrell on being recognized as the Big Ten Distinguished Athletic Trainer. It is an incredibly well-deserved honor," said Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens. "She is the ultimate professional, and her tireless dedication to student-athlete health has positively impacted so many."*

Awarded annually, the Doug Boersma Distinguished B1G Athletic Medicine Award honors individuals who demonstrate clinical excellence, leadership, and a collaborative spirit. It was created in memory of Doug Boersma, a respected sports medicine leader at Purdue.

*“This award is very special, especially because it honors the memory of Doug,” said Terrell. “I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to support student-athletes and be a part of the Athletic Medicine team.”*

Dr. Maggie Doe, Chief Athletic Health Officer at Oregon, added:

*“Kim’s impact on our department and student-athletes is immeasurable. Her leadership and compassion set a gold standard.”*

Terrell was presented with the award during the B1G Medical Meeting in Chicago on Tuesday. Her legacy leaves an indelible mark on both Oregon Athletics and the broader collegiate sports medicine community.
