With the 2024 Olympics underway, we want to highlight as many of the Athletic Trainers as we can! As you're aware, they are working "behind the scenes"—a certainly over-used term—to help these amazing athletes perform at their best and help with any injuries. And they deserve our recognition!

Here's a spotlight on another AT helping out Team USA and a few other stories you might have missed:

Terri Acosta, a distinguished University of North Texas alum and experienced Athletic Trainer, will lead as the head Athletic Trainer for Team USA Women's Basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

A veteran with over 25 years in the field, Acosta's career began at North Texas, where she worked with football and women's basketball teams.

UNT's senior associate athletic director for sports medicine, Jeff Smith, said:

"We are incredibly excited for Terri to be representing Team USA at the Summer Olympics in Paris."

Acosta, who joined the USA Women's National team in October 2022, will begin her Olympic journey on July 29 against Japan.
