Athletic Trainers on the Move: New Hires Making Headlines

At Healthy Roster, we love keeping track of Athletic Trainers on the move — and celebrating their career milestones.

  • Heather 1Heather Charlton, MBA, ATC, LAT, has been named Assistant Athletic Trainer at The College of New Jersey after three years as Head Athletic Trainer at Gwynedd Mercy University. A Temple University alum and former Owls cheerleader, Charlton has experience across high school, collegiate, and clinical settings, holding licenses in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Head Athletic Trainer Megan Guicheteau praised her energy and fresh ideas to enhance student-athlete care.
  • The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley welcomed Joshua Ruedas as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, where he will oversee women’s soccer and track & field/cross country. A valley native and University of Texas alum, Ruedas recently earned his master’s from South Carolina, where he gained experience with multiple sports and even interned with the Dallas Cowboys. Senior Associate AD Steven Kraus lauded Ruedas’ professionalism and passion for serving his home community.
  • Old Dominion University has hired Elizabeth Jones as Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, making her the first woman to lead ODU’s sports medicine department. Jones previously served at William & Mary, where she advanced from associate to head athletic trainer, overseeing 11 staff and implementing innovative rehabilitation programs. A Bloomsburg University graduate, Jones has a decade of experience across collegiate, clinical, and hospital settings, and is one of just six female head athletic trainers in the Sun Belt Conference.
